Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrives at the National Funeral Home at 5 Tran Thanh Tong St. Hanoi to check preparations for the state funeral of General Vo Nguyen Giap

(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Thursday chaired an online meeting with representatives of ministries and agencies, social organizations, and family members of General Vo Nguyen Giap to make a thorough preparation for his funeral. Mr. Phuc, who is Head of the Organizing Board for General Giap’s Funerals, said most preparations have been completed.

The organizing board agreed to use a special aircraft to transport the General’s body from Hanoi to his home town in Quang Binh province. In the province, a temporary road from the highway to the burial place has been built and a space that can accommodate up to 5,000 people has been prepared for the ceremony.

People will line the roads in Hanoi and Quang Binh to show their affection and gratitude for General Giap. Domestic reporters and about 60 correspondents of foreign news agencies will participate in covering General Giap’s funeral in Hanoi and Quang Binh.
