Tran Sy Thanh elected Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee
(VOVWORLD) - All present members of Hanoi People's Council on Friday elected Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, as Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

In his inauguration speech, Thanh vowed to promote the capital city’s achievement, continue with reform, be creative, be flexible in direction and administration, create a stronger and more comprehensive transformation, and contribute to making Hanoi richer, more beautiful, and more modern.
He promised to achieve the goal of turning Hanoi into the development center and driving force of the Red River Delta, the northern key economic region and the whole country.
On July 15, 2022, the Politburo assigned Thanh to quit his position as auditor general of the State Audit and appointed him deputy secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure.
