Tribute paid to the Hung Kings
(VOVworld) – An incense-offering ceremony for the Hung Kings was held at the Hung Kings Temple historical relic in Phu Tho province on Tuesday in the presence of President Truong Tan Sang, local leaders and tens of thousands of pilgrims from across the country.
Nguyen Thi Loan of Hoa Binh province said: “I visit the Hung Kings Temple every year. I’m proud of our 4000-year-old history. I’m moved to be here today and pray for national peace.”
The ceremony is the highlight of the 2015 Hung Kings Temple festival from April 23 to April 28. The festival includes a tourism fair of the northwestern region, an exhibition of offerings from localities to the Hung Kings temple, a contest to make glutinous rice cakes, a Xoan singing festival, and the issuing of stamps featuring the Hung Kings worship, a UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Activities to commemorate the death anniversary of the Hung Kings have also been held in several localities across Vietnam.
