(VOVWORLD) - Turkish security forces have arrested 36 people in four provinces suspected of being related to the self-proclaimed IS terrorist organization.

In a social media post on Sunday, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that the newly arrested suspects were actively involved with IS, providing support and financing to the group. Police confiscated many unlicensed hunting guns and handguns.
Turkey has listed IS as a terrorist organization since 2013, and has accused IS of conducting a series of deadly attacks in the country since 2015.
