U Va legend of the Thai highlighted at celebration of “National Tourism Year” in Dien Bien

The show featuring the legend of “U Va”, held on March 13-16, is expected to bring viewers interesting experiences about the culture and history of the Thai community in Dien Bien in particular and the Northwest in general.

Tran Thi Thuy Mien, a visitor from Hanoi, said: “This is a fable that we have rarely heard about. Through this festival, we learned more about the Thai people and understood more about the legend of “U Va”. We hope that Dien Bien province will organize more events so that tourists nationwide will know more about the “U Va” legend as well as the cultural identities of other ethnic groups.”

Nguyen Minh Phu, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien Province said: "The show featuring the legend of “U Va” was truly majestic and impressive. It is a new product which the province wants to deliver to all tourists visiting Dien Bien, a province of Vietnam which has a rich and beautiful cultural identity.”
