The spokesman said PM Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had agreed on such a meeting during their recent phone call to promote the next phase of the detailed plan.

The phone call took place after a conference last Thursday in Paris of 30 European countries and the Ukrainian President to expand their military support for Kiyv and identify the role of Europe in negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine.

Also on Monday, US President Donald Trump said he expects Russian President Vladimir Putin to fulfil his part on an agreement to halt the conflict with Ukraine. Speaking to reporters in the White House, Trump said he could impose tariffs on nations that buy oil from Russia if it thwarts negotiations for a peace deal in Ukraine.
