Ukraine’s budget revenues are approximately 48 billion USD, while planned expenditures total 92 billion USD. Ukraine will face a deficit of 44 billion USD next year and will have to rely on financial aid from Western allies to make up the deficit.

This year Ukraine received 35.4 billion USD from Western countries, but some believe aid may decline next year because Western countries’ economies are struggling and their citizens are growing tired of the conflict.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed into law on Thursday two bills extending martial law and general mobilization for another 90 days. The two measures will now expire on February 14 next year. This is the ninth time Ukraine has extended martial law since Russia began its special military operation in Ukraine.
