Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and conflicts around the world, Vietnam is making impressive progress, thanks to its multi-dimensional poverty reduction approach, its Sustainable Development Goals, and its commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050, he said.

Some new Vietnamese laws have had a positive impact on gender equality, especially laws against sexual harassment, domestic violence, and workplace violence, according to Dr. Deva.

Vietnam has made advances in science, technology, and digital transformation which have improved people's lives. The UN Special Rapporteur said Vietnam should continue to reform its administrative procedures and respond to climate change, environmental pollution, and biodiversity protection.
