(VOVworld) - US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius told Voice of Vietnam on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Vietnamese US diplomatic relations that new landmarks have been made in bilateral ties. He said despite different views in human rights and religious issues, nothing is impossible in Vietnamese US relations because trust building and mutual respect would help both to realize their development goals: “The first is we think that nothing is impossible and the future of the relationship is very bright. When we established a comprehensive partnership 2 years ago, we laid down 9 areas where we could have collaborations. And we’ve already seen progress in all those 9 areas including in the area of human rights. We are now becoming even more ambitious for what kind of a partnership we can have. We want to go beyond bilateral cooperation to cooperation in regional and global issues.”
