Ambassador Kritenbrink said the US Mission in Vietnam expressed its deepest condolences to the people of Vietnam for the loss of life, destruction of property, and displacement of people due to the flooding in the central region. The US pledges to assist Vietnam in its work to rebuild, said Ambassador Kritenbrink.

Since 2000, USAID has provided more than 26 million USD in disaster response, preparedness, and risk reduction assistance in Vietnam.
