The diplomats will discuss issues of mutual concern. Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Minister Wang Yi will discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern with the US. It is hoped that the two sides will strengthen their communication and dialog, expand practical cooperation, properly manage their differences, and bring bilateral relations back on the track of sound and stable development, Mao said.

Minister Wang Yi’s visit to the US comes ahead of US President Joe Biden’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in San Francisco in November.
