US election 2020: Michael Bloomberg joins race for White House
(VOVWORLD) -Billionaire former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has signalled he will join the race to secure the Democratic Party's nomination for the US presidency.

He has filed paperwork ahead of a deadline for the Democratic primary election in Alabama. The move is a necessary step to join the race to be the party's candidate to take on President Donald Trump in next year's election. His name has also appeared on the website of 17 candidates of the Democratic Party running for election in Alabama.
Bloomberg spokesman Jason Schechter said the billionaire had received 2,000 signatures in support of his campaign which will focus on economics, health care, education, climate change and gun control.
