US magazine calls reign of COVID-19 in Vietnam short-lived

(VOVWORLD) - The reign of COVID-19 in Vietnam was weak and short-lived, in contrast to the US and Europe, the US’s Borgen magazine said in a recent article.

This was the result of mass testing, which has allowed Vietnamese health officials to do contact tracing and effectively control the spread of cases, the magazine noted. Vietnam’s success in the fight against COVID-19 protected the economy, allowing uninterrupted progress in poverty reduction and economic development, the article said. 

Borgen magazine is published by the Borgen Project, an organization that fights global poverty.
