(VOVWORLD) -US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Saturday began his first foreign trip to five Latin American countries to promote President Donald Trump's America First policy.

During his trip until February 6, Rubio will visit Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.
During the visits, the US top diplomat will meet with officials and business leaders of host countries to promote regional cooperation on core shared interests by stopping illegal and large-scale migration, fighting transnational criminal organizations and drug traffickers as well as countering China and strengthening economic partnerships for prosperity in the Western Hemisphere.
