(VOVworld)- The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan on Saturday attended events marking the 68^th anniversary of War Invalids, Martyrs’ Day held by the Policy Department of the Politics General Department of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

In his address, Mr. Nhan called for further efforts in the search for and repatriation of soldiers’ remains. He asked the two agencies to increase cooperation to effectively implement the Party and State policies for former voluntary youths and national contributors. Over the past five years, the Policy Department has repatriated nearly 9,800 soldiers’ remains and helped nearly 3 million people who rendered great service to the nation. The Department has paid special attention to helping the forces that are stationed in remote, island and border areas as well as overseas Vietnamese contributors.
