Vice President celebrates Brunei Sultan’s Golden Jubilee
(VOVWORLD) -Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, who was authorized by President Tran Dai Quang, attended a national banquet to mark 50 years on the throne of Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah in Bandar Seri Begawan on Friday.

At a reception for the Vice President ahead of the banquet, the Sultan spoke highly of Ms. Thinh’s attendance and thanked President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc for sending congratulatory letters. He said he hopes for a bilateral meeting with President Quang as part of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in November in Da Nang. The Sultan agreed that both sides will work closely with each other to boost bilateral ties within ASEAN. Hassanal Bolkiah was proclaimed the 29th Sultan of Brunei on October 5, 1967.
