Vice President urges Ha Giang to safeguard border, develop economy

(VOVWORLD) - Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan had a working session in the northern province of Ha Giang on Wednesday after paying tribute to martyrs at the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs’ Cemetery and a monument dedicated to fallen soldiers of the Vi Xuyen battlefield.

Working with local leaders, Vice President Xuan called on Ha Giang to capitalize on the economic potential of the border areas and bolster trade with its neighboring Chinese localities.

The province needs to firmly defend sovereignty, protect every inch of sacred land of the Fatherland, improve people's lives, and bring into play the potentials and advantages of nature and resources for socio-economic development, said the Vice President.

She urged Ha Giang to strongly develop traditional crops of specialties like Bac Quang orange, Ha Giang tea, and medicinal plants.
