Victoria Kwakwa awarded with Friendship Order

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc yesterday/Monday awarded the Friendship Order to Victoria Kwakwa, Regional Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific of the World Bank (WB), who was the former WB Country Director in Vietnam. Kwakwa was honored for her contributions to accelerating the Bank’s support and cooperation for Vietnam’s socio-economic development.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc awarded the Friendship Order to Victoria Kwakwa, Regional Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific of the World Bank (WB), who was the former WB Country Director in Vietnam.


Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Le Minh Hung said that after taking the post of WB Country Director in Vietnam in 2009, Kwakwa helped Vietnam gain access to WB policy consultations, capital, and technical assistance to deal with difficulties and challenges. He said Kwakwa played an important role in elevating cooperation between Vietnam and the WB to a partnership.

At the ceremony, Hung and Kwakwa signed agreements on three programs and projects, worth a combined 370 million USD, to improve economic competitiveness, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
