Vietjet expands its fleet with order for 30 A321s

(VOVworld)- The VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietjet Air) has placed an order for 30 more A321s (21 A321neo and 9 A321ceo).

The order was signed on Tuesday at the 2015 Dubai Airshow by Vietjet Air President and CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, and John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers, at a disclosed value of 3.6 billion USD.  The A321 is the largest member of the best-selling single aisle A320 Family. To date, the A320 Family has won more than 12,200 orders and more than 6,700 aircraft have been delivered to more than 300 operators worldwide.  Incorporating new engines and the latest technology, the A320neo Family will bring a 15-percent reduction in fuel consumption from day one, and 20 per cent by 2020. They will also have longer-range capabilities and reduced maintenance costs, as well significantly reduced carbon emissions. With more than 4,300 orders received from 75 customers since its launch in 2010, the A320neo Family has captured a 60-percent share in the market.
