Vietnam Airlines deploys Boeing Dreamliner for Hanoi-Moscow route

(VOVWORLD) -The first flight using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft of the national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, arrived at Domodedovo airport in Moscow, Russia, on March 27.

The move from using Airbus A330 is to meet passenger demand. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner can carry up to 311 passengers and saves 20 percent of fuel compared to previous generations of aircraft.

On Hanoi-Moscow flights, passengers can enjoy a range of movies and music on personal touch screen. Vietnam Airlines offers baggage free of charge for 30kg and gives between 1,000 and 3,000 bonus points for Golden Lotus membership from now until June 30.

Since its initial flights to Russia in 2002, Vietnam Airlines has transported 1.5 million passengers between the two countries. It has cooperated with Aeroflot and Siberia Airlines to operate flights to 30 locations in Russia.
