Tan underlined the importance of the 1st conference co-organized by the Communist Parties of Vietnam and France. "In globalization, the Party is required to catch up with global developments as a foundation for the Party and nation in working out policies and guidelines for national development. Exchanges will help us understand global issues, including the global financial and economic crisis and its impacts on France and Vietnam. The conference will provide us more information and knowledge on this issue, which will help the Party in steering national development," Tan said.

The delegates focused on campaigns for social equality and security and challenges in protecting the legitimate rights of the people who have been most affected by the crisis. French scholars and researchers appreciated Vietnam’s policies, especially its restructuring to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the economy.
