Vietnam and UNICEF enhance cooperation in child care, protection

(VOVWORLD) - Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Vietnam’s Permanent Representative to the UN, praised UNICEF’s support for Vietnam in protecting and promoting children’s rights, particularly those related to education, health care, nutrition, and vaccination.

Receiving June Kunugi, Director of UNICEF’s Public Partnerships Division, in New York on Thursday, Mr. Giang expressed his hope that UNICEF and Kunugi, who will take up her role as Regional Director for East Asia and the Pacific this summer, will continue to help Vietnam mobilize resources, develop policies, and enhance specific and practical cooperation programs and plans.

Kunugi praised the achievements Vietnam has made during 40 years of Doi moi (Renewal), calling them a foundation for continued achievements in child care and child protection.
