(VOVworld) - Deputy Minister of Finance Tran Xuan Ha attended the 40th session of the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), which opened in Rome, Italy, on Tuesday.

The two-day session was attended by the IFAD leadership, leaders of a number of countries and international organizations, and representatives from 176 IFAD member countries. They will elect a new president to replace current IFAD President Kanayo F. Nwanze of Nigeria, who will complete his second term on March 31. IFAD, an agency of the United Nations, is headquartered in Rome.
