Vietnam attends IFAD’s 41st session on rural development investment
(VOVWORLD) - Heads-of-state, ministers and government representatives gathered for the opening of the 41st session of the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Rome on Tuesday.

The annual session was themed “From fragility to long-term resilience: investing in sustainable rural economies.” IFAD President Gilbert F. Houngbo stressed the need to invest in long-term rural development for a more stable and prosperous world. Participants discussed ways to sustainably invest in rural areas. Amid rising poverty due to conflicts and climate change, participants set a target for an IFAD’s lending and non-refundable aid worth 3.5 billion USD to help rural people in developing countries around the world.
A Vietnamese 3-member delegation was led by Hoang Hai, Deputy Director of Debt Management and External Finance, at the Ministry of Finance.
