Vietnam attends UNESCAP discussions in Thailand

(VOVworld) - Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Luong Minh has urged all Asia-Pacific nations to eliminate protectionism and share their experience in avoiding the middle-income trap. At the 68th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Bangkok on Monday Minh said the region should coordinate their macroeconomic policies to minimize financial and monetary instability. He underlined the Vietnamese government’s efforts to boost economic growth, ensure macroeconomic stability, contain inflation, and sustain a steady growth rate. He said Vietnam has given top priority to social equality and progress and has spared no effort to reach its Millennium Development Goals by 2015. Also in this session, Vietnam was elected a member of the Centre for Agricultural Engineering and Machinery.
