(VOVworld)- National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Hanoi on Wednesday. Speaking at the event, Hung said he believed the Belarusian President’s visit will create a momentum for bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the two legislative bodies. The two leaders agreed on the need to increase two-way trade value to more than 500 million USD and upgrade the Inter-governmental committee to promote bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, education and tourism. They agreed to support each other to expand international cooperation. Belarus wanted Vietnam to help it boost cooperation with Southeast Asian countries and promised to help Vietnam expand relations with eastern European countries.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said the Vietnamese National Assembly will do its utmost to enhance solidarity and friendship between the two countries and the two legislative bodies. President Lukashenko urged both sides to work closely in fine-tuning the legal basis for bilateral cooperation.
