Vietnam celebrates the 96th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution

(VOVworld) – The Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh city commemorated the 96th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution on Thursday.

The delegates reviewed the resounding event which shook the world. Nearly a century has passed, but the revolution’s significance still remains today. It had a great influence on the Vietnamese revolution and is a foundation for traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and Russia.
Anatoly Vassilievic Borovik, Russian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh city, spoke at the meeting. “Regardless of remarkable changes over the last 2 decades in both countries, we have maintained and promoted our traditional relations, mutual understanding, trust, and cooperation. I believe that President Putin’s coming visit to Vietnam will create a momentum for the future development of our comprehensive strategic partnership.
Also on Thursday, the Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party’s Committee, Nguyen Cong Soai, led a delegation of the Hanoi People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front to lay a wreath at the statue of Lenin in Hanoi.
