Vietnam, China to strengthen cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong has urged Vietnam and China to promote the traditional friendship between their two Parties and peoples.

Mr. Trong talked by phone on Monday with Party General Secretary and State President of China Xi Jinping.

He said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties 71 years ago, friendship and cooperation have characterized the relationship between the two Parties and peoples, and a wealth of activities have contributed to the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Mr. Trong suggested that both countries step up strategic discussions and practical collaboration in all fields to contribute to peace and stability in the world.

Mr. Xi expressed his belief that under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by Mr. Trong, Vietnam will successfully implement the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution and gain even greater achievements.
He affirmed that the Chinese Party, Government and people attach great importance to its traditional friendship and neighbourliness with Vietnam, and are willing to step up strategic discussions, boost practical collaboration in all fields with the Vietnamese Party, Government and people, and ceaselessly develop the China-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership in a healthy and stable manner, bringing practical benefits to the two nations' people and contributing to peace and stability in the region and the world.
