Vietnam confirms 261 COVID-19 cases on Saturday

(VOVWORLD) - From 12 noon to 6 pm on Saturday, Vietnam reported an additional 104 new cases of COVID-19, raising the total tally of the day to 261, the Ministry of Health said.

The 104 new cases include 1 imported case which has been quarantined after entry in Tay Ninh. The remaining 103 cases were locally-transmitted in Ho Chi Minh City (44), Bac Giang (41), Bac Ninh (16), Ha Tinh (2). Of them, 101 cases were detected in quarantine or lockdown areas.

Overall, Vietnam has logged a total of 10,241 cases, both locally-transmitted and imported infections.

58 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, including 23 deaths during the latest outbreak from late April.

More than 3,827 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospital after making a full recovery from the disease.
