Vietnam will continue to implement a fiscal policy tightly from now until the end of this year and try to complete tax collection for the state budget as set by the National Assembly. The mission was released by the Finance Ministry at a meeting in Hanoi yesterday to review the financial performance in the first half of 2012 and put forward missions for the year-end months. Under the plan, the Ministry will speed up the settlement of tax bad debts, and fortify regular tax inspection to timely detect and seriously tackle violations in tax management. The Finance Ministry called for efficient management of spending, increase sources of capital for investment and development projects, and implement social welfare policies. The Ministry also asked provinces to support production and trade, encourage exports, reduces the trade gap, and boost the restructuring and equitization of state-owned enterprises. Activities relating to financial market management and supervision and anti-corruption will also be prioritized.
