In a joint declaration issued during the just concluded official visit to Cuba by State President Tran Dai Quang, the two sides underscored the importance of the Vietnam–Cuba intergovernmental committee on economic–trade and science–technology cooperation, promote mutually-beneficial investment, and actualize investment and cooperation projects currently being negotiated.
The leaders agreed on the settlement of international disputes by peaceful means on the basis of respecting international law and principles of independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and self-determination, not intervening into each other’s internal affairs, and not using or threatening to use force.
They agreed to step up cooperation and mutual support within international organizations and at multilateral forums.
