Vietnam determined to implement Beijing Platform goals on gender equality
(VOVWORLD) - Over the past 30 years, and especially since 2019, the Vietnamese Government has been determined to achieve the goals of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and other international commitments on gender equality.

Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha was speaking at the three-day Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on reviewing 30 years of implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPFA) in Bangkok.
“Vietnam is determined to implement the solutions proposed in the National Review of the 30-year implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, aiming for successful implementation of the 2030 Agenda on sustainable development, and leaving no one behind in the development process. Vietnam will continue to strengthen the partnership between the Government and relevant stakeholders, including UN agencies, to maximize support for gender equality and the advancement of women,” said Deputy Minister Ha.
The Asia-Pacific Regional Report assessing 30 years of implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPFA) highlighted the challenges ahead as well as future-oriented strategies and solutions in six areas – poverty reduction and human resource development; shared prosperity and decent work; freedom from gender-based violence; meaningful participation and gender-responsive governance; peaceful and equitable societies; and gender and the environment.
