Addressing a national teleconference between the Government and localities on Tuesday, Mr. Chinh highlighted Vietnam’s encouraging socio-economic results recorded in Q1 despite the COVID-19 pandemic and global uncertainties.

According to a report at the meeting, the country's GDP grew 5.03% and the consumer price index was kept at 1.92% in the first quarter. Total trade went up 14.4% to more than 176 billion USD.

PM Chinh asked for effective implementation of the COVID-19 prevention and control program, the socio-economic recovery and development program, and the Government’s resolutions on production, business, and innovation facilitation.

The Government leader demanded stronger efforts to maintain macro-economic stability, control inflation, foster digital transformation and climate change response.
