During a reception for General Secretary of the United Left Movement (MIU) Party and Minister of Regional Integration Policies of the Dominican Republic Miguel Mejia in Hanoi on Tuesday, Minister Son highly valued the Dominican Republic's government for appointing a resident ambassador to Vietnam in 2022 and opening its embassy in the country in 2023. He said that these efforts have become bridges to promote increasingly effective and substantive development of the bilateral relationship.

He expressed his appreciation for the contributions by Mejia to the development of relations between the two countries.

Mejia expressed his hope to further deepen the fruitful political and diplomatic relations, and expand bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation in trade, agriculture, telecommunications, construction, energy, and oil and gas industry.

The two sides agreed to closely coordinate and actively take measures to strengthen the bilateral relations in the time to come through Party-to-Party, State-to-State, and people-to-people diplomacy channels, including promoting high-level delegation exchanges, connecting and supporting businesses, enhancing cooperation, and supporting each other at international organizations and multilateral forums, especially the United Nations.
