Vietnam Fine Arts Museum opens propaganda painting collection
(VOVWORLD) - A new space displaying propaganda paintings opened in the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi on Tuesday.

The same day a new book titled “Aspiration for Peace” was introduced at the museum. The two events marked the museum’s 54th anniversary and the 75th anniversary of National Day.
30 propaganda paintings created between 1958 and 1986 capture historical milestones of Vietnam’s revolutionary period.

Painter Pham Minh Tri said, “War-time propaganda paintings played an important role in the national revolution. Painters showed their engagement in accomplishing political tasks. This exhibit gives young people an opportunity to see the spirit of their predecessors expressed in work, combat, national construction, and defense.”
The book “Aspiration for Peace” presents 81 works created during the war that express the Vietnamese people’s hope and longing for peace.
