Vietnam hopes for continued cooperation with World Bank

(VOVworld) – Vietnam hopes for continued cooperation with the World Bank to help the country achieve its socio-economic development goals for 2014. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the remarks while meeting the World Bank Country Director in Vietnam, Victoria Kwakwa, in Hanoi on Thursday. He also expressed his hope that cooperative ties between Vietnam and World Bank would become more efficient with the advent of new developments in 2014.

Victoria Kwakwa said that she was very impressed with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s New Year message. The message touched upon many important issues for Vietnam’s sustainable development, highly praised by the international community as well as Vietnam’s development partners.
Ms. Kwakwa praised Vietnam’s achievements in implementing solutions to stabilize the macro-economy. She added that it was necessary for Vietnam to continue these solutions while addressing obstacles difficulties to boosting production and business activities, to maintain a reasonable growth rate and ensure social welfare. She affirmed that the World Bank would aid Vietnam in the country’s efforts to achieve its development goals.
