Vietnam, India boost bilateral comprehensive partnership

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Government, people, and army always attach importance to developing comprehensive and practical relations with India, said Deputy Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang during talks with Indian Army Chief and Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee Bipin Rawat in New Delhi on Monday.

The two sides agreed to enhance political trust and promote ties, including full and effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on collaboration between the two defense ministries and the Joint Vision Statement on Vietnam-India Defense Cooperation for 2015-2020.

Mr. Giang paid a courtesy visit to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who said Vietnam is India’s important partner in implementing India’s “Act East” policy and urged the two countries to strengthen delegation exchange at all levels. Mr. Giang said he believes bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and India will develop sustainably and comprehensively for peace, and stability in the region and the world.
