(VOVworld) – India will implement plan to assist Vietnam’s Defense Ministry, including the building of a hi-speed patrol ship. Joint Secretary of the International Cooperation under the Indian Defense Ministry Smita Nagaraj released the statement during her visit to Vietnam to attend the second meeting of the Vietnam-India defense cooperation group in Hanoi on Wednesday.
She said Vietnam and India will produce equipment together for their own and Southeast Asia and provide Vietnam with needed categories in defense industry. Addressing the event, Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh said he is pleased with the progress of bilateral defense ties, especially between air and naval forces, which is on the right track set at their defense dialogue last year.
