Over six weeks of meetings, Vietnam chaired the drafting and presentation of a Joint Statement on promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for gender equality, which received broad international support.
The Vietnamese delegation also actively engaged in compiling key documents and co-sponsored several initiatives, reflecting Vietnam’s commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and the promotion and protection of human rights.
Vietnam delivered statements on a wide range of important issues, including labor and social security rights in the informal sector, children’s rights, responses to HIV/AIDS, cultural rights, the right to food, and the rights of persons with disabilities.
In these discussions, the delegation reaffirmed Vietnam’s policy of safeguarding human rights for all, shared national efforts to support vulnerable groups, and emphasized the importance of bridging political divides through trust-building and cooperation.
Vietnam’s active participation at this session highlights its continued responsibility and engagement as a member of the Human Rights Council for the 2023–2025 term, and serves as a foundation for its candidacy for re-election for the 2026–2028 term.
