Vietnam NA ready to create favorable legal environment, listen to US businesses

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue applauded the US Government’s commitment to consider recognizing market economy status for Vietnam, saying the Vietnamese legislature is ready to create a favorable legal environment and listen to the opinions of US businesses.

The NA Chairman worked in Hanoi on Wednesday with a 90-member delegation of the US-ASEAN Business Council, representing businesses investing in technology, transport, automobile, energy, financial services, agriculture, investment funds, logistics, hospitality, manufacturing and cosmetics.

Mr. Hue welcomed USABC's first visit to Vietnam after Vietnam and the US upgraded relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership. He emphasized that this new framework will create motivation for cooperation in economics-trade-investment with a longer vision, larger scale, deeper level of connection, and higher quality and efficiency.

“The National Assembly of Vietnam always strongly supports the development of Vietnam-US relations to benefit people and businesses of the two countries. We strive to create a favorable, stable, and transparent legal and policy framework so that foreign businesses, including US businesses, continue to develop for longer term Vietnam, especially in areas where the US has strengths and Vietnam has needs."

"The National Assembly has been ready to listen to the opinions, concerns and aspirations of the business community, including US businesses, regarding Vietnam's policies and laws,” Chairman Hue said.

Chairman Hue proposed that USABC and its members increase investment and business with Vietnam in areas of strategic breakthrough, such as green transformation, clean and renewable energy, transport infrastructure, digital economy, high technology, healthcare-pharmaceuticals, electronics-semiconductors, manufacturing industry, finance-banking, logistics and high quality human resource training.

At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue specifically responded to each group of issues and each opinion of US businesses.
