Vietnam, New Zealand vow stronger cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam wants to boost multifaceted cooperation with New Zealand, said National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue during a meeting with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in Wellington on Tuesday.

Chairman Hue suggested that the two sides further strengthen collaboration in aviation and tourism with more direct flights.

He proposed that New Zealand remove trade barriers and avoid the imposition of trade defense measures against Vietnam to facilitate bilateral trade, while creating more favorable conditions for the business communities of both sides to foster partnership.

Mr. Hue urged New Zealand to open high schools and universities in Vietnam and receive more Vietnamese students. He also asked New Zealand to allow Vietnamese holiday and agricultural workers to work in the country.

PM Jacinda Ardern expressed her hope that the two sides strengthen cooperation in education and pledged to create conditions for Vietnamese workers, especially skilled workers in New Zealand with priority given to health care, construction and education.
