Vietnam pledges to eliminate human trafficking

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Women’s Union, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee on Thursday organized a meeting to mark the “Day for Anti-Trafficking of Humans”.

In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh said government, sectors and localities need to work closely towards international treaties on anti-trafficking of humans and support victims.

Binh said: “We need to bring into play our achievements in fighting human trafficking and stay united in this fight. At this meeting, I would like to emphasize a message that Vietnam pledges to eliminate human trafficking.”

In the first half of this year, Vietnam has uncovered 60 cases of human trafficking with 90 victims, most of whom were women and children.
