(VOVworld) - The office of the National Steering Board on the Consequences of Toxic Chemicals during the war in Vietnam (Office 33) has been required to speed up dioxin cleanup at Bien Hoa airport, Dong Nai province.

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Bui Cach Tuyen made the remark at a meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday to review the office’s performance in 2013 and announce its action plan for 2014.

Tuyen said that in addition to using advanced technologies to deal with the toxic chemicals’ consequences, the office should expand collaboration with such traditional partners as Japan and the Republic of Korea.

In 2013, the steering board directed and coordinated with relevant ministries, agencies and localities to clean up the toxic chemicals.
