Prime Minister Chinh suggested that the two countries enhance delegation, people-to-people, and cultural exchanges, and to organize the upcoming 3rd meeting of the Vietnam-Qatar inter-governmental committee. He spoke highly of an agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic passport holders signed during the visit.

Mr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said Qatar attaches importance to developing relations with Vietnam, considering Vietnam a gateway into the ASEAN market.

So far, the Qatar public investment fund has invested hundreds of millions of USD into the Vietnamese market, he said.

He also showed his support for cooperative measures proposed by PM Pham Minh Chinh to boost multilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially in economics.
