Vietnam, Qatar strengthen cooperation in security, public order
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and Qatar should increase cooperation to complete a long-term legal framework for cooperation in crime prevention and control and criminal justice, said Minister of Public Security General To Lam.

At Tuesday’s reception in Hanoi for Qatar’s new Ambassador Khalid Ali Abdullah Abel, Mr. Lam underscored the need to sign agreements to create a favorable legal corridor for coordination, exchange, and cooperation activities in economic, political, and legal affairs as well as crime prevention and control.
He called for enhancing the exchange of law enforcement experience, and suggested that the two sides maintain and establish a cooperation channel to regularly exchange experience in detecting and fighting terrorists and the training and financing of international terrorism.
Ambassador Abel said he will do his utmost to boost bilateral cooperation and is ready to act as a bridge to expand cooperation between Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and Qatar’s law enforcement agencies.
