Mr. Dien said Vietnam views the US as a top partner and is committed to strengthening bilateral economic, trade, and investment ties in a comprehensive and sustainable manner. Vietnam also considers the US a reliable, long-term supplier of energy, machinery, technology, and raw materials, he noted.

Ambassador Knapper said the US wants to make 2025 a pivotal year for advancing bilateral cooperation and fulfilling commitments under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

He highlighted economic and trade collaboration as a pillar of the relationship, with both the US public and private sectors eager to expand cooperation with Vietnam in energy security, climate security, food security, and high tech. Ambassador Knapper also noted the US’s interest in participating in major projects in Vietnam.

He said the US’s new trade policies are not aimed at Vietnam and reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to fostering stronger economic and trade relations between the two countries.
