Vietnam ready to lead ASEAN: foreign media

(VOVWORLD) - International media have highlighted Party General Secretary To Lam’s visits to Indonesia, the ASEAN Secretariat, and Singapore, saying that Vietnam, after three decades of integration, stands ready to lead ASEAN.

According to Thai PBS World, Vietnam is reshaping its diplomatic approach as it works toward becoming a middle power by 2045.

Chinese media outlets including Guangming Daily, China News, Global Times, Phoenix TV News, Knews, Sina, and Sohu also reported on Mr. Lam’s visits, noting that they have reinforced Vietnam’s diplomatic strategy of "making ASEAN the centre" and have strengthened intra-bloc cohesion.

China's social media platforms Weibo, TikTok, and WeChat said General Secretary  Lam’s visits, aimed at boosting intra-ASEAN cooperation, focused on strengthening economic and security ties with Indonesia and promoting rule-building and investment attraction in Singapore. They said ASEAN unity brings benefits and stability to the entire region.
