(VOVworld) – First officers of the Vietnam People’s Army will join the UN peace-keeping mission in South Sudan late this month.

Vietnamese ambassador to the UN Le Hoai Trung told the UN debate themed “Peace-keeping operations: New trends” on Wednesday that the joining is testimony to Vietnam’s support and commitment to the UN peace-keeping operation, its desire to contribute to maintaining global peace and security, its policy on international integration to intensify its cooperation with the UN and the international community. He said Vietnam has established the national peace-keeping centre to train its peace-keeping forces meeting UN standards.
