Vietnam records no Ebola virus infection

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has not recorded any Ebola infections to date, Deputy Head of the Health Ministry’s Preventive Medicine Department Dang Quang Tan has announced.

During a meeting of the Vietnam Public Health Emergency Operation Centre in Hanoi on Monday, Tan said the Democratic Republic of Congo has recorded Ebola infections since April and the risk of Ebola infection in Vietnam is low.

Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long asked the health sector to enhance the training of health workers on disease detection, prevention and treatment. He said the Health Ministry is working with international organizations to keep track of the epidemic as well as strengthening supervision in communities, border gates and hospitals.
