Vietnam reports first kidney transplant from brain-dead donor
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese doctors have successfully performed the first kidney transplant from a brain-dead donor.
The recipient was a child and the 6-hour operation was jointly conducted by surgeons from Hanoi and HCM city. The patient is now in stable condition. On Monday, Hanoi-based Viet Duc hospital also announced the successful transplant of two lungs in a 17-year-old cancer patient.
